Second training for NRLs in October 2015

The EURL for Bee Health held its 2nd. training on honeybee diseases on 8th. October 2015. The morning was dedicated to the validation of information regarding clinical signs for the leaflets on varroosis, American and European foulbroods while the afternoon focused on how to adopt new molecular methods developed and validated by the EU RL. Fifth EURL Annual Workshop held in October 2015

The EU RL for Honeybee Health has held its 5th. annual workshop on 7th. October 2015. Participants exchanged on the small hive beetle infestation, enhancement of diagnostic tools and the results of the two inter-laboratory proficiency tests organized by the EU RL in 2015. No detection of A. tumida in Switzerland (Free access)

On the 30th March 2015, a suspicion of A. tumida has been reported from one apiary located in Switzerland (Uri administrative area) and largely disseminated on Internet. The EURL for honeybee health has performed morphological and molecular analysis on the samples received from Switzerland. All results were negative for the A. tumida species. To date there has been no detection of A. tumida in Switzerland.
